"Blue + Forest Diptych" is comprised of two 24" x 24" paintings separately framed in crisp white frames. "Blue + Forest Diptych A" is meant to be displayed on the left side, and "Blue + Forest Diptych B" is meant to be displayed on the right side, but there is great flexibility in the display of these paintings. They are dramatic when hung directly side-by-side; or if they are separated to flank a larger painting, mirror or other central feature they create a stunning visual dialogue. They can be purchased separately.
The mood of "Blue + Forest Diptych" is an exploration in contrasts. There are areas of deep forest and sage green, and patches of mysterious indigo blues. These heavy passages sweep into areas of lightness through cobalt blue, teal and soft lavender, gray and cream tones. There is texture, movement and sophistication.
"My painting process begins with a particular color palette in mind, and here my inspiration came from a walk in the forest and my impression of the sky and light shining through the thick trees" says painter Dana Goodfellow.
Dana Goodfellow is an award winning abstract painter who works out of her Darien, CT studio. A third generation artist, her works are based on strong compositions, values and color harmony. Describing herself as a “colorist”, Goodfellow’s unique ability to blend and harmonize colors was perfected during an earlier decade-long career in the fashion industry in New York City.
