The portraits of noted artist Sandra T. Colquitt embody realism in the classical tradition. Her portraits are an exact likeness of the subject and portray the spirit and sense of presence of the individual. This is achieved through her extensive knowledge of the craft of painting, and over thirty years of experience in the field of portraiture.
Sandra, a native of Savannah, Georgia, holds a B.F.A. Degree in Art from the University of Georgia, and has studied with master portrait painters throughout the country, such as Daniel Greene, John Howard Sanden, Everret Raymond Kinstler, and others.
The award winning artist has received recognition in national ventures such as The Artist Magazine International Portrait Competition.
She is a member of The Portrait Society of America, The Portrait Institute of New York, and the Portrait Society of Atlanta.
Her subjects in portraiture range from children and family groups to personalities in the academic, institutional, and business world. While primarily a portrait and figurative painter, Sandra also enjoys other subjects such as animals, still-life, and the beauty of the coastal Georgia landscape. Her paintings are represented in collections throughout the country.
Of her work Sandra states, " The challenge of portraying the human face and form has always been a special fascination. The likeness must be exact and the painting must have sound design elements to make a beautiful and strong work of art. I love being a artist and God has blessed me with the ability to record His creations through the medium go paint."
