- Rodger Bechtold
“Into A Pine Woods” presents the viewer with a stunning array of colors and offers a rich experience with Wisconsin’s woodlands. Artist Rodger Bechtold is a Midwest native and has lived and worked between Chicago and Door County most of his life. He studied at the American Academy of Art, Chicago, the School Of The Art institute of Chicago and was mentored by the Color Field Painter Wolf Kahn. He abandoned his commercial art illustration career of many years, in favor of painting landscapes full time.
Over time Bechtold has built a solid reputation for being a major contributor to the dialog in contemporary landscape painting in the Midwest and beyond. His work is expressed with energy, painted with seemingly effortless brushwork and charged with color. All connected by place and moment. Bechtold is currently represented by Tory Folliard Gallery in Milwaukee’s Third Ward.
