Shaw, a former psychiatrist, spent the last 30 years producing a body of work which explores a variety of different materials and techniques and challenging the fundamental concepts of balance, composition, gravity, compression and expansion. Through the years, Shaw has participated in many solo and group exhibitions at such noted galleries and museums as the Museum of Arts and Sciences, Daytona Beach, Florida; and Sculpture Center, New York City, New York. His work is included in the collections of numerous museums and universities throughout the United States.
