Artist: Bruce Niemi (American, b. 1956)
Bruce Niemi is a Wisconsin-born sculptor who works in highly polished steel. Niemi has 55 permanent public sculptures across the US and Europe. A native of Kenosha, he was trained by his father Frank, a self-taught abstract sculptor and ornamental iron artist. From age 12-18 Bruce studied welding with his father. He worked in his Kenosha studio until he recently retired from metal sculpting due to health complications from heavy metal toxicity.
Saint John's owns a total of five of Niemi's works, featured throughout the Town Center level. These powerful, yet graceful, pieces were donated by former resident John Randall in 2004 in memory of his wife Dorothy.
