Artist: Monica Czukerberg
Czukerberg's artistic practice mainly comprises painting and sculpture. She studied Architecture at the Universidad AnĂ¡huac del Norte and has taken courses on drawing, design, ceramics, and other artistic disciplines in various national and foreign institutions. She was part of the workshop of the visual artist Eugenia Orozco, and now she is currently studying an MFA at the Miami International University of Art and Design.
Her work is focused on the constant search for techniques and materials that allow her to express her visual universe. Czukerberg calls her style "abstract realism", characterized by capturing elements of nature that she places in undefined settings that are the result of various reflections and investigations, in which she incorporates organic, immaterial, or architectural elements, which she enhances with vibrant hues.
With painting, especially with the possibilities of abstract painting, Monica Czukerberg sets aside the rules imposed by reality in terms of representing it as closely as possible; to show various ways of expressing an emotion, a word, and even any subject or motive.
