Fanny Karchmer transports the viewers into the abstract world by manipulating classical techniques such as tempera, encaustic, mixed, and oil. The use of different textures, lighting effects, and distinctive materials are always evident in her work. Her paintings are both highly pictorial and material that shows the uniqueness of her brushstrokes. Some of them feature paint drippings as "premeditated accidents" that give the image its unique character.
