Creativity grows with each painting in a series. I used the word "expand" to help me think outside the box. I had fun with the texture, as some words were intentionally placed, and others were random. The inspiration came from the pages of a century-old dictionary and began with a single word. From the pages, birds emerged—painted in oil, suspended between language and flight.
