Juried Winter Show 2025

Baby animals are the most endearing gifts of nature, and none more so than the lanky, awkward baby giraffe with it's huge eyes and long face and neck. This piece is made with red and white earthenware clay. The giraffe's pattern is achieved through sgraffito, a technique where the piece is covered in red slip, partially dried and then scratched away to reveal the white clay underneath the slip.
