I have had the great fortune of visiting a friend on Nantucket for many years. One of my favorite traditions is taking the Cliff Walk with its expansive ocean views. However, I equally love the spaces in between views where you duck out of the sun into the cool tunnels of green. These spaces feel magical as the trees wrap you in their arms before the next wide expanse. I painted “Cliff Walk” mostly with a palette knife and pushed colors to try and capture the magical space.
