JUDGE'S COMMENTS: This painting is poetry. In fact, it reminds me of a poem by Macrina Wiederkehr titled
“The Sacrament of Letting Go”. The sense of light is heavenly. In fact, I felt like I had to Squint my eyes as I looked towards the top of the painting. The water reflecting the sky in ripples is stunning. The use of warm ochers and umbers against the icy blues made me take a deep breath. There is a spirit of hidden strength here. The dormant trees still standing strong, waiting patiently for spring as they soak in the sunlight.
