This work was inspired by the intersection of domestic tranquility and the beautiful disruption of family life, the balance I've been always searching after had kids. By pairing the traditional, almost fleeting beauty of peonies with the permanent, plastic presence of my children’s toy cars, I wanted to capture the reality of a home in motion. The peonies represent a desire for grace and stillness, while the scattered cars serve as an honest reminder of the small people who occupy the space.
The light through the blinds acts as a metronome, marking the passage of time. As the sun moves, these patterns shift, highlighting different "artifacts" of our daily life—sometimes a flower, sometimes a toy. This piece is an exploration of these quiet, unposed moments: the way a sunny afternoon can turn a cluttered tabletop into a sacred map of family memories. It is an acknowledgment that beauty in the home isn’t found in perfection, but in the layers of life left behind by those we love.
