I remember the first time I ever saw an orchid. It was in a pot in an amazing art museum in New York. I seriously thought it was a piece of artwork rather than a plant. I was so awestruck by it's exotic beauty. This is a still life of a tiny orchid from a beautiful bouquet of flowers, (which I also painted), but I wanted to honor it with it's own canvas. Some of the most beautiful things are so hard to notice, but once we do give them our full attention, we can see they are magnificent to behold.
