I have recently fallen in love with matcha bowls! I love the humanity that the imperfections imply. They are like the sunflower, they don't pretend to be perfect, but that in itself is so lovely. I cherish the beauty of something made by hand; something that connects me to another through touch. One touch is creating the thing, and the other touch, appreciation of it's humble beauty. I configured this still life using a sunflower that volunteered in my backyard, probably planted there by some bird seeds that wandered into my garden. I guess some might consider it a weed, but it's vibrant color brings me joy.
