This was my first commissioned piece.
It is hanging in a private ski chalet in Whistler.
The client requested different shades of red cedar. The subtle triangular patterns get simpler as we move towards the ends of each snowflake arm....becoming more airy and delicate.
Some of the larger pieces of cedar were milled from wood that had been in the clients possession for many years. It's always nice to incorporate meaningful wood from someone's past into a present-day piece of art so that they will have it for the future.
