Roanoke Six II
- Acrylic On Canvas
- Dyke M. Wood
“Two things I enjoy most,” says native Roanoker Dyke Wood, “are fishing and painting. I paint for the pleasure of creating a piece of art that is part of me.”
“I love the landmarks that are specific to Roanoke,” adds Wood. “They let you know you are home. “The Mill Mountain Star is a definite example of that; it’s what you look to see when traveling back home from an out of town trip. That familiarity, especially of the people—family, friends, acquaintances—gives me comfort and inspires my paintings.”
