The Compound is the name lovingly given to the community created by the neighboring businesses Golden Cactus Brewing, owned by Evan Graham and Alexa True, and Gatewood Rose Botanicals, owned by Jessica Downs. The Compound puts on Midweek Markets, Makers Markets, and partners with Star City Styles to host drag shows supporting LGTBQ+ causes. “We think this group of people are going to make that part of town into something bigger and special for the future,” Tandem says.
Tandem is Josh and Libby Nolan-Shafer, a queer married mural duo painting together since 2021.
