James Divers is an artist and photographer whose works are heavily inspired by his Northwest Roanoke roots, nature, and metaphysical concepts.

Portrait subject Antonio Stovall mentors young people in the Roanoke Valley and works to heal the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of the Roanoke neighborhoods. Antonio is a martial artist and certified Kemetic Yoga Instructor, and he holds an educational position at William Fleming High School.

“I am inspired by Antonio’s growth and movement,” says Divers, who hoped to create a timeless portrait through the use of traditional photographic materials and techniques.
