- Scott "Toobz" Noel
- Untitled (Printer's Alley Mural), 2020
Local artist Toobz Muir painted a ground-level mural of an abstract “ROANOKE” in the alley between the former Roanoke Printing Co. Inc. building and the First Citizens Bank on 1st Street SW. Developer Jim Cherney commissioned the mural to help welcome tenants to what Cherney calls “Printer’s Alley,” the mixed-used space that includes commercial and residential units. “Printer’s Alley” also pays homage to the old printer company. As Muir stated, “I think we all need this, it’s an alleyway and a lot of people avoid it sometimes and hopefully they’ll find it to be more inviting and comfortable to come into their homes.”
