Lee describes her own walks down Tinker Creek and Dillard’s written explorations as “a visual feast.” Using an e-book of Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, she enjoyed the ease of highlighting a name or phrase and immediately accessing photographs and information of the book’s many creatures.
“It took me forever to get through the book because I looked up about 90% of the animals, places and things she referred to. And what a joy that was. Most of what she mentioned is right here in the place where I live…. What a contemplative miracle that is.”
The artist reflects Dillard’s descriptions of the “fullness of life,” its myriad forms, from a beautiful indigo bunting to a wriggling, red worm.
