Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Lena Loshonkohl relocated to Roanoke four years ago with her daughter. Lena finds inspiration in the beauty and generosity of her fellow artists and small business owners of Roanoke. She is excited to find her roots in the community and continue to participate in local pop ups with other small businesses.
Her self-portrait, a delicate embroidery of a child and the skeleton of the ancient Irish elk, a meglofauna that walked the earth over 7,000 years ago, speaks to the endurance and hopefulness of humanity.
“I’ve been able to create a better life for myself and my daughter here,” says Loshonkohl, “and I look forward to building more connections.”
