Branch’s playful tile mosaic disks balance on the earth. She used rainbow designs because they “endure the test of time.” On her application cover page for the exhibition, Branch said she “used circles as they are the most universal symbol of unity.”
About the artist:
Polly Branch is known for her local landscape paintings of Virginia forests, and her mosaics and sculptures are appreciated in public and private settings. Large wall paintings are displayed inside the Roanoke Food Co-op on Grandin Road, and mosaics can be found at locations including Memorial Avenue, Hurt Park Elementary, and Clearbrook Elementary Schools.
