Artist Deborah Baronas conceived of two pieces for the National Guard Joint Force Headquarters- one representing the history of the Guard, the other portraying the "three legged stool" of service.
Commissioned and fabricated during COVID, the artist interviewed Guardsmen and witnessed their work in action in the community. Artworks are made of oil paintings on board, layered with painted gauze and digitally-printed glass.
From the artist:
MY MISSION IS TO MAKE THESE SOLDIERS FEEL RESPECTED AND BELIEVE
THAT THEY MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL OF US. THIS IS
ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT DURNG THESE DIFFICULT TIMES.
