Aldona Sabalis (b. 1948) is a Lithuanian American artist born in Dillingen, Germany, and currently based in Rhode Island. Known professionally as Allie Sabalis, she is celebrated for her large-scale, transparent watercolor paintings that blend vibrant color with realism. Her work captures fleeting "moments in time" with a meditative, Zen-like sensibility, inviting viewers into a space of stillness and recognition. With a focus on the familiar and the contemplative, her paintings often evoke a quiet emotional resonance and a deep appreciation for everyday beauty.

Working exclusively in transparent watercolor, Sabalis explores the unique possibilities of this medium on a grand scale. The luminosity and delicacy of watercolor, when applied with her technical mastery and expressive touch, create compositions that are both vivid and ethereal.

Aldona (Allie) graduated from Nazareth University in Rochester, N.Y. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and then later received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
