The Kifwebe masks are noted for having a face covered with striations, a square protruding mouth and a linear nose set between globular pierced eyes. This one is a female mask as it does not have a crest on top of the head. The dancer who wears the female mask displays gentle, controlled movements and is assumed to be associated with reproduction ceremonies.
