This is a drawing made with graphite on white paper. A horizontal line traverses the page near the bottom of the composition. Above the line a circle with nebulous edges fills the picture plane, evoking a sun or moon obscured by fog. A smaller circle is below the line, evoking a reflection in water. A drawing of a porcupine quill bisects the picture plane vertically. The composition of the drawing is defined by bilateral symmetry. Note that the artist lives on the Mississippi River in Dakota, MN, and this landscape inspires much of her work, including this piece.
