More than 500 years after Michelangelo painted the many masterpieces of the Sistine Chapel ceiling , "the Creation of Adam" remains one of the most copied and most parodied works of all time. My painting is intended neither as a copy nor a parody, but more a response, a conversation between me and the ghost of Michelangelo, who, I hope, has been keeping up with the changing world. I expect he well understands that our scientific age has displaced the magical ideas of creation dreamed up by desert tribes millennia before his time, and will see that I mean no disrespect when I adapt of his image for a contemporary comment.
