Entanglement I Limited Edition of 8
In reading about quantum physics I always have a very strong mental image of a particle and its antiparticle whizzing through the universe, mysteriously linked but off on their own journey, the concept known as entanglement in particle physics. When I was playing with this tiling pattern, it reminded me of this mental picture - a teeming background radiation, and paths popping into existence, interacting, and then disappearing into nothingness.
The tiling uses two tiles, a 5-fold kite, and a bow-tie. The bow-tie shape appears as an anomaly in the 5-fold kite fractal tiling where two fractal lobes fold back onto each other, so I used the problematic leftover shape as a second tile, and redid the tiling with it occurring throughout. This allows me to resolve the tiling all the way to infinity as a straight edge, rather than a variety of Koch snowflake complex edge.
