This began on a rainy morning as members of the Manotick Art Association gathered at the lovely Rideau Woodland Ramble plant nursery to paint en plein air. After an initial downpour, we explored the property. I found a display of roses and grasses backed by the mixed forest near a greenhouse if I needed to take shelter. But over the morning the heavy clouds moved on and the sun broke through. When I got home, I found that some of the painting needed to be lightened, but it remains a reminder of persisting in spite of a downpour.
