The emancipated woman reflects my ongoing exploration of recuperation, a practice of transforming discarded or everyday materials, such as cloth, charcoal, resin, and coffee grounds, into new visual and narrative forms. I approach the canvas as a site of negotiation, where material and concept evolve together. This method speaks to broader themes of resilience, resourcefulness, and the creative reimagining of limitations, particularly within marginalized contexts. My work invites viewers to engage with the layered histories of these materials and to participate in the open-ended process of meaning-making that they evoke.
