No. 48 Verbena; Resilience

This painting is exhibited at the Drawing Room in San Francisco in the Women Rising exhibition.

Bees go out into the world in solitude, gathering pollen and returning to their home with their findings. Along with their community, they take their hard solitude work and create beautiful golden sweet gifts of honey. Like the bee, I work in solitude, gathering my feelings of grief or happiness, pouring them onto my canvas. Then, with the help of my community, I find my direction and voice, thus creating something sweet for others to enjoy.
