"Spring Trees" was painted as a demonstration. The focus of this demo was to take a complicated photograph and pull out the necessary information. How to remove the unnecessary. How to see through the leave. How to find the big shapes and then gently add marks on top to show the true depth of the scene. It can be a tedious process of layer building. What sits in back? What to paint first, second, third. Hoping you don't go too far too fast by putting in a wonderful top layer detail. Patience; that is what so many things in life are about and this is no exception. Waiting on the trees to bloom in Spring. Waiting for the pollen to clear of the water. Waiting to make the top mark to pop the color.
