At the end of the fall season, when the trees are holding on to the last of their leaves, we headed out into the woods looking for inspiration. These hikes have become a regular part of the painting process and on this particular morning’s hike, the sun was shining through the almost bare trees in the perfect way to light up the chartreuse undergrowth and moss thriving on the wet rocks of the boggy marsh. This light and texture combination were too amazing to ignore.
