Let me not be inappropriately angry. Let patience rise within me. Spring has arrived, the fragrance overtakes me, and it is time to bloom.
A little background...
I started a new mini-series with this painting. While searching for inspiration, I came across a screenshot of my friend holding a beautiful flower that caught my eye. I requested permission to paint it and she was thrilled about the idea.
From there I altered the image on my iPad. Making part of it fade away and bringing focus to the petals. I chose my color palette and began painting with water-mixable oils and a really large brush on a 30" x 40" canvas. I wanted to keep it fresh and dreamy.
During a conversation with a friend about what to name my artwork, she suggested "Spring," which felt perfect. It inspired me to create a painting for all four seasons, each representing a specific emotion I associate with that time of year.
