Monet's Garden has inspired me for years. Ever since painting there on location and being locked in the garden after hours, the romance of this garden and its association with an artist I adore make it eternally inspirational. This piece borrows heavily from the great master and is my interpretation of his oil painting done in modern watercolors. I admire his moody abstraction of the landscape, with uncertain perspective, lots of exciting color and gestural shapes. It's a lily pond...or is it?
