The inspiration for my current body of work is intergalactic space exploration. Ever since I watched the moon landing in 1969 I have been fascinated by the images beamed back to us across the vast expanse of space and time. To me, they represent a form of time travel. Since the light from the vastness of the universe takes so long to reach the Earth, it’s as if we are looking billions of years into the past. Additionally, they evoke a sense of divinity, in that we are looking at the beginnings of creation. I want my paintings to help connect us to that expansiveness.
