This painting was made after I made "Snake Lake" - I had painted some crystals in that lake and felt that they would make a nice composition on their own. Here's a micro story I wrote for this painting:
Swamp crystals you are an inspiration to us all.
How you grew, no one knew.
Out of the brackish swamp, you bloomed up incrementally at the pace of one atomic layer per year.
Patience and perseverance are your primordial food.
Millions of years ago you began as a humble speck, occasionally catching light down in the murky depths. We wonder at how you have manifested your own ever-expanding existence.
