With this body of work, Cutlip draws on the raw energy of urban life. Mixing found paper and paint on panels, the artist creates abstract compositions that highlight the juxtaposition of color, form, and texture. Cutlip works instinctively, letting each move lead to the next. The edges of the works are an important aspect of his process, revealing the sense of history to the process.
