This morning, I woke up, fell outta bed, dragged a comb across my head.
Fell all the way down the stairs. Ripped my coat. Lost my hat. Missed the bus by 3 seconds flat.
The rain fell hard. No umbrella. Sat on the grass and soaked my ass. Bluebird droppings on my head. Finally got up and just my luck, a truck drove by splashing me with water. Began to cough.
Okay, I’ll just have a burger, I thought. Found a fast food place, and waited and waited. Finally I ordered. Pulled out my wallet, and had no money!
I just gave up and went to the beach to sit and watch the waves. Got sand In my shoes, stepped on dog poop, fell on my ass. Crawled over to a pile of rocks, and hung my head low. What a crappy day!
Mitch (the needle) was right! My jeans were getting tight, shrinking from being wet.“Something’s gotta change!” I thought.
“When will this crappy day end?” I mumbled. And I was startled beyond belief, as I heard the word, “Nevermore!” I turned and saw this stately raven from the saintly days of yore. Again he spoke, “Nevermore!”
And here he is, immortalized in oil. I call him, Mr. Manfredjensenjen.
