“Alien occupation” delves into the alternate self in reaction to dominant power structures, illuminating tensions between personal agency and ingrained culture. The work depicts the alter-ego in response to such hegemonic forces, when inescapable social rules impede one’s effort to exercise it. A subjugation accepted, inherited or otherwise. Subconscious scripting, performances with a narrow range of improvisations, walking the same path, continuously reinforcing the past. “Alien occupation” is an experimental short video connoting a dissociative experience.
