In sacred geometry, the principles of geometry are fundamental to understanding cosmology and the structure of the universe. Islamic art embodies divine wisdom that is reflected in its constructions, shapes, and the numerical symbolism contained within the patterns. The same circle that appears at the beginning of almost every geometric pattern and construction also takes the shape of the sun and the moon—arguably the most luminous sources of light in our universe.
Both sacred geometry and cosmology use these principles to explore and express the profound harmony and beauty of the universe, bridging the gap between the physical and the metaphysical, the seen and the unseen.
My work is an exploration of the interconnectedness between Islamic art and the cosmos, and a humble attempt to recognize the ineffable beauty of the universe.
