The charm of this view lies in its simple rendering of the religiously significant structures within the masjid. The view drawn by W. Buckley, shows the Ka'bah which falls within the main spherical area and the surrounding compound which is used for ṭawāf by the pilgrims. Placed within the compound are the Maqam-e-Ibrahim SA , the Zamzam well and the hills of Al-Ṣafā and Al-Marwa. In the background, the columns and arches which form the outer wall of the rectangular central compound and the masjid’s boundary are seen.
