“Crowning Glory” is a painting inspired by the majestic domes of Qibaab Mubaraka, exploring the connection between identity and belonging. The use of gold and white colours symbolizes purity and royalty, reminiscent of a mumin's topi or crown. The hexagonal shapes, a recurring motif in the buildings of Aljamea tus Saifiyah, pay homage to the unique architectural style of the Dawoodi Bohra community. The marble effect throughout the painting highlights the spiritual and symbolic significance of the magnificent domes, which represent the community's heritage and faith.
This painting represents the artist's personal journey to connect with her cultural identity and translate her spiritual beliefs onto canvas, while also capturing the essence of the artist's individuality and unique perspective.
