The linocut fiber art print “Stitch & B*tch” was created as a visually abstract narrative to address issues of societal expectations, liberation and the enduring strength of the female spirit in response to the past election. Fiberwork is incorporated; a nod to unjust stereotypes and often unrecognized contributions. Sewing traditionally has been linked to domesticity, societal constraints, the pressure to conform and the limitations imposed on women. I find it more and more important to recognize the efforts of “Women’s Work” in our world.
