Catherine was introduced to ceramics at Bennington College in the late 60s by artist Stanley Rosen. She spent her working life in contemporary art and design, as a graphic designer, a painter for 20 years, as a member of the exhibitions team at the Hirshhorn Museum, and exhibitions coordinator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington. She worked with clay intermittently over the years until 2015 when she turned to ceramics full time. She makes one-of-a-kind, hand built works--vessels, plates, bottles, and sculptures. She is a Washington DC native who works across the river at the Alexandria Clay Coop.
