In the spring, daffodils come out of hibernation in the earth bringing the most exquisite yellow.
Their emergence prompts an artistic response.
Claudia Vess, based in WDC, combines traditional and contemporary materials and subjects in prints, paintings and sculpture. She has worked in museums, with non-profit art organizations and galleries, taught art and continues to exhibit in the U.S. and with Atelier Aperto in Venice. She made her first etching in an etching class with Leonard Baskin who, on the first day, dictated a supply list and said there were many books about how to etch so go to the library and then ask questions next week. A gallerist at www.thecabinetart.weebly.com, CCV is part of Ward Circle Faction and establishing a print facility in her studio. (AB Smith College: MFA American University WDC)
