Interested in working in black and red, I pulled out three stencils I had made previously and layered them in black and red onto both red and black fabric in a version of a quarter log cabin pattern. Recently, I overheard a woman talking on her phone: “Snow?! God mad at all this chaos.” Disrupting the pattern with a band of splatter-painted scraps and some erratic embroidery finished the feel of “God mad."
