The suite of prints, Fall Back to Center, is inspired by Prentice's research on the ancient tradition of the Mandala as well as her fascination with magical realism. From preliminary sketches made in her studio in Eugene, Oregon, Prentice worked with Gretchen Schermerhorn and other studio artists to carry out a series of images in circular custom-made sheets of paper. Each mandala nature-inspired image was layered with pulp painting and then printed with tonal and line applications of copper-plate etchings produced by the artist. Prentice's long history of combining pulp painting with printmaking, guided the mastery of many hands for an exquisite publication.
