Artist: Lyndon Fayne Pomeroy (1925-2018)
Lyndon Pomeroy was born in Sidney, Montana and entered the Army Air Corps upon graduation from High School.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Art from Montana State University in 1952 and a Master of Applied Art, also from Montana State University, in 1960.
According to Pomeroy, "I began using Ivory soap, and I recall my first subject was a horse. I probably sold him for a few nickels. Maybe gave him away." He kept his studio in Billings, MT.
Lyndon was an assistant professor at Northern Montana College, Havre from 1953-1958, and an assistant professor at Eastern Montana College, Billings from 1958-196. "But I kicked that habit in 1961," Lyndon has stated, emphasizing his belief that, "if you're an artist, that's how you make your living. If you don't earn your keep with it, it's your hobby."
