Artist: Jonathan Haschka (1945-2019)
Fr. Haschka, born in Milwaukee, WI, was ordained as a Jesuit priest on June 20, 1965. After ordination he earned an M.F.A. degree from the University of Georgia and taught sculpture at Creighton University from 1977-1985. He served as a minister, local superior, and pastor in Africa — in Nairobi, Kenya from 1991-2001 and Mwanza, Tanzania from 2002-2011. He returned to the Wisconsin Province to serve as superior of the St. Camillus Jesuit Community from 2011-2015.
Jonathan was a zealous Jesuit priest with the instincts and imagination of an artist. He produced numerous works of art during his years teaching sculpture at Creighton University.
